SoftGripping’s recent visit to Indonesia marked an exciting milestone in our collaboration with Duo Solusi Teknindo (DSTI) and the broader industrial community.
Over an engaging week filled with discussions, factory tours, and the FANUC Indonesia Open House, our principal, Alexey Stepanyuk, experienced firsthand the dynamic growth and ambitions of Indonesia’s manufacturing landscape.
What stood out immediately was the maturity and competitiveness of Indonesia’s automotive industry. With numerous system integrators (SIs) vying for major projects, it’s clear that the automotive sector has already established a strong automation foundation. However, this competitive environment is also pushing SIs to look ahead,
to identify the next high-growth area where automation can create real impact. And that area is Food & Beverage (F&B).
The most eye-opening insight from the visit was the huge, relatively untapped potential for automation in Indonesia’s F&B sector. While automation in this space is still emerging, the enthusiasm is anything but small.
At the FANUC Indonesia Open House, the significant turnout of F&B customers actively seeking new automation solutions proved one thing: the industry is ready. Companies are looking for ways to reduce labor dependency, scale production efficiently, and integrate smarter processes. Soft robotic gripping technology is uniquely positioned to meet these needs.
Throughout the week, SoftGripping and DSTI visited seven system integrators. Each visit confirmed the same message: the opportunity in F&B automation is fresh, promising, and waiting to be developed. Unlike the saturated automotive market, F&B is a space where integrators can offer innovative use cases and help businesses scale with flexible, gentle, and hygienic gripping systems.
This visit was not only a learning experience but also a reaffirmation of our shared mission, to support Indonesia’s industries as they move toward smarter, more efficient automation.
SoftGripping is proud to be part of this journey and excited to continue building solutions that fit the unique needs of the Indonesian market.
